It wasn't pretty but Carrick continued their good season with a hard fought win away at Waysiders Drumpellier on Saturday.
This was certainly not a match for the rugby purist, as both sides battled for superiority in conditions that resembled a quagmire. In the end, the 8-9 victory came courtesy of the kicking skills of young Conor Wyllie, who nudged over three penalties to edge out the hosts.

At Castle Douglas an inexperienced Carrick side had been taught a few lessons and effectively outmuscled by the stronger and more experienced home side losing by four tries to nil. Stewartry came to Maybole as one of the top three in the league with an outside chance of promotion. The sub plot to the visit was the close connection between player/coach Muir for the visitors and sometime player/coach Brown for the Rick.

Carrick U13 and U14 v Wellington. Wellington playing pitches.
All players should meet at HQ for 8.15 and all matches will KO at 9.30am.

Scotland Internationals
Sunday sees us taking a bus to the Scotland v Ireland match. All pupils should be at HQ for 10.45 and will return around 6.30pm.
Bag Packing
We have managed to gain a full days bag packing at Sainsbury’s in Prestwick on Saturday 9th March. If any parent can help supervise or assist in the bag packing them please speak to me asap.
Tuck Shop
The support we have been receiving for the tuck shop has been outstanding. We will be running a tuck shop on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday this week and we are running low on crisps and cans of juice, if anybody can help us with these then that would be gratefully appreciated.
